Throughout history bonsai has been an art form dominated by men. These women have broken through the barrier and have chosen to make the bonsai arts their life and profession. You can support them by purchasing their art, or hiring them for workshops or demonstrations/presentations.

Bonsai
Bonsai are containerized plants (e.g., trees, shrubs, succulents) whose growth is controlled through pruning. Bonsai artists must use horticultural expertise, a multitude of technical skills, and a mastery of artistic design to develop trees that impart the feeling of "nature in miniature".
Kusamono
Kusamono artists plant herbaceous and woody plants in containers as artistic representations of landscapes that can suggest a particular place seen in nature.

Pottery
Bonsai and Kusamono pottery must be frost-proof, durable and provide adequate drainage. Besides being functional, the color, sheen, shape, and style of a pot must work cohesively with the bonsai or Kusamono in the design.
Scrolls
Hanging scrolls, or Kakejiku, can be displayed with bonsai or Kusamono to further convey a sense of place or the current season.
